Biography
Munene KariithiMunene Kariithi is a Kenyan artist who describes himself as progressive and experimental. Born in 1990, he developed a passion for art at an early age. While in school, Munene's artistic practice came to a halt when the subject was removed from the syllabus.
He studied Computer Information Systems as the alternative choice of study. Upon completing his education, Munene realized his passion for art outweighed his fascination with computers and consequently began using the internet as a learning tool to revive his artistic journey.
He finds inspiration in daily life experiences and his interaction with people and environment and people he interacts with. Munene has taken part in several group exhibitions, including at the Kenya National Museum, Alliance Francaise, Polka Dot Art gallery, One Off Contemporary Gallery in Nairobi. Also In 2019, his artwork featured at A glimpse of East Africa in Lagos, Nigeria, Kenya Art Diary and Safaricom Calendar by Capital Club East Africa
