Alpha Mukange
At the beginning of his art training, he worked as a signwriter before focusing entirely on painting in 2016. He took part in several art programs inside Kakuma refugee camp and Nairobi.
He primarily works with acrylic on canvas and he draws inspiration from both personal experience and the world around him. His recent work reflects the reality and the resilience of the common people attempting to survive in his environment while reflecting on the challenges of African society. His artwork has been exhibited at several establishments including Alliance Française, Goethe Institut, Kenya National Museum in Nairobi. In 2024, his artwork featured in Exhibition Out of Place Art and Stories from the World's Refugee Camps at Gallerie Delle Prigioni in Treviso, Italy. Alpha’s work is now available through the Almasi Art Agency gallery in Diani Beach, where he will participate in the “New Discoveries” Exhibition 2024.
