CARREL KUMBIRAI
Born on the 10th June 2000 in Bhuhera – Zimbabwe, he moved to Gweru 2001 with his parents. His passion for art blossomed from the age of 6 when he was enrolled at Cecil John Rhodes Primary School. This was a key turning point in his life as this is when he discovered he had a natural talent for art.
It was during his High School days that he was inspired to elevate his skills and ability in professional art. He was mentored by well-known and seasoned artists in Zimbabwe. Though he did not have any formal art training at an art school, friends and mentors who were already in the discipline assisted him to follow his passion until when he instituted his own art studio in 2019. His capture of detail and in his most desired subject -THE PAINTED DOG, is exemplary considering his tender years and these pieces feel like they have been painted by the old masters. Through his art, Carrel exemplifies the beauty of the animals found within the continent and in their natural environment. Carrel takes on commissioned pieces as well and is also represented by the Almasi Art Agency.
