Jessica Loren
Working with upcycled glass bottles, her sustainability-driven practice transforms discarded materials into richly textured, light-responsive compositions that explore themes of resilience, renewal, and cultural identity.
Drawing inspiration from African customs and traditions, her work bridges abstraction and heritage. Each piece embodies a dynamic tension between fragility and strength, as broken glass is reassembled into cohesive, expressive forms. Through her practice, J. Loren foregrounds the beauty of reclamation—both material and symbolic—inviting viewers to reconsider what is discarded and to rediscover value through transformation. The transparency and fracture of the glass she uses in her work mirror the complexities of history and the unyielding nature of spirit. Once broken, now reformed, these materials embody stories of survival and continuity. J. Loren is represented by Almasi Art Agency and currently shows at the Agency’s space in Diani Beach.
