transformative life experiences
Cinnamon Girl is a US-based organization that has, for over 20 years, nurtured a conveyor belt of girls of colour by creating a holistic environment that incubates their talents to ensure they reach their full potential.
Through mentorship, travel, writing programs and entrepreneurship, the organization prepares girls to fearlessly pursue their dreams and become changemakers in society.
At Almasi Art Agency’s gallery, we had the honour of hosting 8 girls, their chaperon, Sumari Barnes and Cinnamon Girl Executive Director, Lena Jennings
The 10 guests had an opportunity to view and appreciate artwork from 12 artists hailing from four countries. Paintings, sculptures, mixed media compositions that include recycled material and other mediums like batik and photography were all on show.
This visit is part of a programme that allows the girls to interact with transformative life experiences outside their home country and fosters an international outlook on different subjects.
Cinnamon Girl and AAA’s objectives converge at the point where both institutions work towards creating platforms where youth get a chance to exploit their talents. This allows them to achieve the best version of themselves in the future.
