Clam Shells
As with modern-time tridacna species, these ancient clams lived in symbiosis with algae that converted sunlight into sugar, which in return, fed the clam. As such, they only habituated shallow water with abundant sunlight which was 2-12 metres deep.
This led to mass extinction of the species once sea levels dropped. If you would like to inquire about or purchase a fossil clam shell, we would be happy to provide more information on the same.
