There are a few things that are harder than starting from scratch. That is what we did for the NEW DISCOVERIES exhibition that opens on Tuesday 17th December at AAA’s Diani Beach gallery space.
7 months in the making, we approached various artists that we had not worked with before and carefully sourced for paintings, sculptures and mixed media compositions. The result is a group show consisting of 10 talents from 3 countries that will be showing for the next 4 months.
Solomon Luvai, sculptor Atieno Sachy, Kamau Kariuki, Asenath Kemunto, Sam Njuguna, Ugandan artist Dominic Lukandwa, Munene Kariiithi, Derrick Munene (M-9), DRC’s Alpha Mukange and the outstanding Ssali Yusuf are all part of a stellar submission of pieces that capture the imagination and tickle the senses. This exhibition has been created to provide the audience with a window into, mainly, the emerging names in the regional art scene as AAA seeks to incubate these talents as they grow and provide a platform for them in the competitive landscape that is fine African art.
